post 12: Laura Owens

From the pictures of post 11, Laura Owen's artwork is not considered to be postmodern because none of her artwork include the postmodern visual strategies. But, her artwork is her distinctive style that she feel comfortable and enjoy to make. So, Laura Owens is able to make any type of her artwork while she enjoys the process.
However, I identify a little bit use of layering. Her colors and the use of the mediums overlap throughout her artworks which creates a layering technique. Even though the picture above is not a big final creation, but her techniques are used in the artwork. So, this picture can conclude that Laura Owens is consider to be postmodern .

The artist I found interesting throughout her artworks was Laura Owens. To begin with, Laura Owens was born in Euclid, Ohio in the 1970s. She was a young artist after exhibiting her artworks to the world. Moreover, she attended Rhode Island School of Design and California Institute of Arts. She graduated in 1992 and in 1994; she received both, BFA and MFA for arts. So, she had the education of arts to become an artist. Furthermore, in 2003, Laura exhibits her artworks at MOCA, so she works and lives in Los Angeles, California. Therefore, Laura Owens’ artwork gives me a sense of natural feeling and the bright light of nature.
