Beautiful Cliché by Chopen

This photography is called "Beautiful Cliché" by Chopen who is desired to express the cliché of this beautiful photo. To begin with, the wheel prints at the bottom of the photo is pulling viewers' attention to the prints because wheel prints are not seen on a beach. So, the cliché is the wheel prints that kind of separated the photo into two. Moreover, this photo is beautiful and romantic scenery on the beach with a couple strolling along the beach. However, the wheel prints destroyed the romantic mood and the beautiful environment of the beach. Lastly, at the top of the photo, there are clouds that are crosses like the letter "x" which shows negativity about the picture. So, this photo itself is ironic. Therefore, the cliché of the photo sways viewers' attention to either the wheel prints or the cloud in the sky, rather than the beautiful and romantic day of the couple on the beach.

I love this photo because it calls your attention to the entire thing. The emphasis screams out to the viewer and shows you that everything that glitters isn't always gold.

One of the postmodern visual strategies that you forgot to mention was appropriation. You did mention however that this was a common so when they put things like car tracks and airplane smoke in the sky it gives it a sort of disturbed look and it is no longer romantic but deceiving.
