post 2: race and gender criticism

In the article, "race and gender criticism" was about the criticism that artists receive. Artists' artwork were view base upon their race and gender. For example, women or non-white had stereotypes which gave artist no recognition. So, art was all about their perspectives. Art criticism also includes western art. Viewers discriminate non-western art because they feel that it is "strange". However, when i critique other people's art, i do not care whether who are the artists. The most important part is that the artwork is a meaningful piece of its purpose. So, i do not think critique should be base upon race, gender or anything.

What do you think about criticism?
How do you feel if someone gave you a criticism base upon your race or gender?

  1. Mz. Chueng!!!!! If somebody gave me criticism based on race, I'll just think it's because they're jealous of my art work or me as a person. As me being as dark as I am, I don't care what people think. I can't control how people feel, so I won't even worry about it. I'm still going to be crazy, silly, and goofy as I can be!!!!! DUECES
